Looking back at the history of Apple’s iPod Nano, first released as a replacement for the iPod Mini, to see that this is a product that has struggled more than most to find its niche in the market.
The 6th generation iPod nano is unbelievably small and light. You can fix it to your clothes using the strong clip at the back. There are just three buttons -- power/screen lock, volume up and volume down.
Everything else is controlled via the 1.5-inch, capacitive touchscreen, which is something of a mixed bag.
The screen is bright and colourful, and text is clear.
This model has also improved the fitness app and added a neat clock-face feature which allows you to view the Nano like a watch.

Radio
The built-in FM radio is pretty reasonable for such a small player, if a little difficult to get to grips with initially.
To tune in, you press the arrows on the screen to find the next strongest signal, or you can manually tune to a frequency by swiping a bar at the bottom of the screen and the has the ability to pause a radio station for up to 15 minutes and skip forwards and backwards through the recording.

Music & Nike+
Of course there's a built-in pedometer which measures the number of steps you take and uploads the results to nikeplus.com when you next sync the nano with iTunes.
It also supports the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit
Lots of user I remember started to use it as a watch - cool and even Apple was very proud of the clock on the nano at the launch.
Lots of companies started to make wrist-straps and enabling people to wear the nano as a proper watch- nobody even could imagine that Apple shipped nearly 31 million units in 2019, a 36 percent jump over 2018.
The Swiss watch industry, which includes brands like Swatch and TAG Heuer, only shipped an estimated 21.1 million units, a 13 percent decline, Strategy Analytics says.

Specs
The Nano is an exceptional media player.
With up to 16GB (8GB or 16GB models available), there’s more than enough space for the daily excursion or even a month-long trip.
Battery life is rated for 24 hours of continuous audio playback, and the recharge time is quick, capable of a full recharge in just a few hours (or 80% charge in 1.5 hours).
The Nano is not strictly speaking an iOS device, though many of the functions feel and look identical.
Rotating the screen a 240×240 pixel square is done with two fingers turning the image on-screen. This method is convenient and intuitive – much better than using accelerometers for the same function.
Apps on screen can be moved around, but none deleted. Four pages of apps include quick links to music (playlists, artists, now playing, Genius mixes, etc.), settings, photos, fitness, clock and radio.
